Accessory Jaws

There are several optional jaw sets available for the STRONGHOLD, ONEWAY and TALON chucks.

All of our jaws were designed to allow the wood turner to take on projects which may require a smaller or larger capacity than what the standard #2 jaws can handle. For turners who work either small or large, or who want to be able to finish the back side of their work, the following jaw sets are assets to consider:

Due to popular request, all our profiled jaws are now available in a smooth (or dovetail) configuration.

Spigot Jaws (Talon & Oneway), #1 Jaws (Stronghold)

Because of overwhelming customer requests, ONEWAY has manufactured spigot jaws for the ONEWAY and TALON Chucks.

These jaws are called the #1 Jaws for the Stronghold Chuck, but can also be referred to as spigot jaws.

They are machined long and deep for better grip on smaller parts. The outside surface of the jaws is serrated to grip the work piece.

Important
These jaws are not to be used with the woodworm screw.

#2 Jaws

Profiled Jaws
Our profiled #2  jaws come standard on all of our Chucks. The patented profile on these jaws provides extremely good gripping power on both square and round stock.

Smooth Jaws
These jaws have the same capacities as the standard #2 Jaws (and are offered at the same price). The inside and outside surface of the jaws is smooth. They are designed , and recommended, for light cutting applications. These jaws will not mark your work as much as the standard #2 Jaws, but will NOT grip with the same power either.

Profiled vs Smooth
Oneway recommends our patented profile jaws over the smooth jaws due to increased gripping power with minimal damage to the work piece.

#3 Jaws

These Jaws have the mass and size so necessary for those turners producing large bowls and vases. They are unparalleled in strength and holding capacity. Notice that the #3 jaws have also been outfitted with our patented profiled jaw design. When turning large bowls, we recommend using a 2" Jumbo Screw.

Important
All Oneway Chuck accessory jaws are compatible with the Talon Chuck. However, if you want to use your Oneway #3 Jaws on your Talon Chuck, please be aware there is no overlap with the #2 Jaw capacities.

Our latest jaw design, these jaws have even more mass and size (than the #3 jaws) so necessary for those turners producing large bowls and vases.

Only our #3 jaws come close in strength and holding capacity.

These jaws are available in two configurations:

When turning large bowls, we recommend using a 2" Jumbo Screw.

Jumbo Jaws

These jaws are aluminum plates, machined from the solid for higher strength which measure 11" in diameter. Their unique combination of slots and tapped holes for mounting the rubber grippers allows holding an infinite number of round, oval or square shapes. Buttons are hard rubber pressed over a tapered steel sleeve for superior holding.

Usage

  • light finishing on the backs of bowls
  • external chucking on platters and picture frames

By using an extra button set, it is possible to stack buttons which further accommodates odd shapes.

Wooden false jaws may be mounted and turned for those requiring the utmost in precision finishing or for extremely large or critical applications.
